It’s wise to take some time to plan your corporate video before taking the plunge. In particular, you should ask yourself; who is this corporate video aimed at; where will it be shown; how will it be used; and how long a shelf life do you intend for it to have? Once you have some answers to these basic questions, you can move on to more detailed preparations. What content will the video have, and in what style do you wish it to be made? Is it to be inspirational, instructional, or are you trying to sell your services to others? Will it be presented by a celebrity, or would you prefer not to have an on-screen presence?
It is at this stage that you should approach your chosen corporate video production company. Your choice of company will naturally depend on a number of factors, not least price, reputation, and any special expertise they may have in your particular field of business. But remember; whatever your line of business, it is they who are the experts; listen to their advice and suggestions, particularly when it comes to the creative side of the corporate video. Of course, you will retain the final say over the content and style of your corporate video, and it is perfectly right that you have a strong input into the creation of the corporate film; after all, you are the customer. But if you put faith in the production company, the chances are that you will have a better end product when your corporate video has been made. |
